Alright I heard that filtering multicast on a network is beneficial, but how about on a home network that doesn't broadcast any multicast to none of the clients that share the network.

Im not sure what type of networks use multicast or if multicast is only used when requested (automatically) through the internet from a certain media server, etc.

And what wil happen if I disable multicast filtering on my linksys router? Will the network experience less throuhput since filtering slows down the router to check for multicast congestion or will it increase the performance?

Um....if you don't need it, don't use it. I think that advice can be applied to just about anything. :thumb:
