Last night we had a thunderstorm and after it was over my Linksys router no longer had any of the lights on and was not working. It is a wired router that came with my vonage service a few years ago. My roadrunner modem is still working and my PC is fine so why is my router the only thing that didn't make it through the storm. When I unplug it and plug it back in the lights come on for a few seconds then all go out again. Any suggestions? Thanks.

if your router uses an external power adapter, I would look for the characteristics on it and try to buy a new one similar (it would be something like 9V and 1Am. You need to find something with the same voltage, same or higher amperage and the same plug).
Thunder storms can destroy power adapters. Some are more sensitive than others. Be happy it is only your router that suffered. Such a power adapter costs $10. A computer is quite a bit more.

I would recommend to have at least a surge protector for your electrical equipment...
