Name resolution with QuickVPN+WRV54G

I have WRV54G installed at the office and I use QuickVPN to connect to it. I have windows 2003 server inside the office network serving DHCP and DNS services.

I have no problem connecting and IP addresses in the office ping successfully. The name resolution doesn't wotk though -- pinging computers using thir names fails.

I noticed that QuickVPN actually adds the IP address of the router to the list of DNS servers on my client machine. The problem is that the DNS server in the office is not the router -- it is the windows 2003 server. Name resolution starts working immediately after I go to the network settings of m client machine and change the added address from the router to the DNS server.

Does anyone know if this can be done automatically -- I would like to configure QuickVPN such that it would add the server's address to the DNS servers list, instead of the WRV54G router's address.

Please let me know if more information is needed.

WRV54G has some serious DNS issues like this. A turnaround could be if you update your LMHosts file with the IP addresses of the computers concerned.

Minash, I have the identical problem. In my case, I have a Linksys RV016 VPN router, and a Microsoft Small Business Server on the office network serving DHCP and DNS. The RV016 sends its own address to the QuickVPN clients, which is a completely useless thing to do, and as a result my QuickVPN clients cannot resolve anything by name. Correcting the DNS settings on the clients after they connect via QuickVPN corrects the problem, but this isn't a practical fix. How difficult can it be for Linksys to provide a user-configurable DNS address in the management interface on their devices?? It sounds like a lot of people are having the same problem. Can we get a response from Linksys on this issue?
