I'm new to this forum. I own a Linksys WRT54G wireless router.
Not sure where I should put this question, but here goes!

I want to use the DHCP server to assign IP's to specific PC's/Hardware as they come
online, similar to a static IP except the it's server thats giving it the same IP address. From what I can work out the router is not able to this as standard, someone told me about a firmware update called Tomato, what can anyone tell me about it?

Also I was in touch with Linksys, I wanted to see a list of devices connecting to the router, they told me the DHCP Clients Table is only able to show devices connecting with a dynamic IP, will Tomato allow me to see all devices?

Will Tomato also improve the firewall ablilty of the router?

Turns out my Linksys is version 5.1 and Tomato will not run on it. Which firmwares are able to run on version 5.1?

You can only load the micro version though. There is a different process required to install dd-wrt onto a v5.1

Pain in the a$$ if you ask me. Look into getting a WRT54GL
