I've just bought a WAG54GX2 to replace an ageing Netgear DG834G.

I've got the Linksys working well - however.......

Why the hell does it have a power button on it?? (Surely a crazy thing for a router!!!!).

As I live in a small village with frequent power outages, it means that the Linksys does not turn back on, but I have to turn it back on with the on/off button

I've gone back to the Netgear as I can't live with the Linksys not being able to turn itself back on :(

    Any ideas?

Think to use a 12V battery or an inverter?

To be serious, you can plan to short cut the button internally, but this will void your waranty.

An other idea will be to block the button with something
