    Hi everyone,
Setting up a wireless LAN is completely new to me.

I tried running it as mentioned on the starter cd-rom after connecting my computer (online), plugging in cables and out from here to there. But it seems to hang at '99% completed' after it reaches the step of "checking computer systems".

Could you please tell me what I can do to make it work.

the set up out of the box is pretty straightforward - can you provide a little more information - is this the first network you've set up? what works, what doesn't? Do you have any wired connectivity? etc...

    First NetWork

Yes, this is my first network set up.

I am using an ADSL connection. I am able to connect directly from the phone socket to the computer and surf on the internet.

I only got stuck at the set up stage for the wireless LAN, everything progresses well till the "checking your system" page where it checks up till 99% and stays there for ages.

Tried rebooting, reconnecting and resetting up the wireless LAN but seem to get stuck when the system is being checked, at 99%.

Am I supposed to set the router up first? Or is it because I am supposed to set up the wireless receiver on my pc first?

You should have a ASDL modem or an internal ASDL modem in your computer. The telephone socket in the wall should be a RJ-6 socket with up to six connectors. An ethernet socket (RJ45) has eight connectors. If you are using the computer with an internal ASDL modem and it has a wired NIC you can use Windows ICS by sharing the internet connection. ICS will assign the IP Addresses, you can connect your WRT54G to thw wired NIC in your computer, you must set it to be a DHCP client. If the network I am describing is not, what you want to hookup. Please clarify your network configuration.
