I'm a networking novice, so be kind.

I have a new WRT54GS with the latest official beta FW. It is set to DHCP, which as I understand it, lets the router assign IP addresses to the attached devices in some sequential order (as they attach?). Yesterday, we had an extended power outage and all devices (desktop, laptop, Tivo, XBOX) did not all power up, so their IPs changed causing me some problems.

In my old Netgear, this was easy and obvious. When you turned off DHCP, it allowed me to enter the MAC and static IP for each device. I cannot find a similar method in the Linksys setup.

    Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately that feature isn't included in the default Linksys firmware...

You'll have to use a custom firmware like DD-WRT or Alchemy to get Static DHCP. (The latest HyperWRT 2.1b1 doesn't yet include the feature either.)
