Hey all, having a bit of a problem here. I just installed the tomato firmware on my wrt54gs v1, and do not have any internet access thru it. I upgraded from dd-wrt because I was having the same problem and thought this would fix it, but apparently something is wrong with my router or internet configurations. I have windows 7 installed on my computer and read that you need to disable ipv6 in order for it to work, did that with no luck. The tomato gui comes up and everything, and I did the windows troubleshooter thingy, and it said the dns server wasnt responding, any idea what that means and how it can be fixed?
thanks and let me know if you need more information.

EDIT: I don't know if this matters, but I was connected to a different linksys router, then switched back to the wrt54gs to install tomato, and am now back on the original router.

You don't need to disable IP6 - though it does help to make things less confusing. You need to make things a bit clearer, like what modem you use, how is connected (PPPOE etc) to which port, how you configured tomato to connect to it, what the results were, what do the logs say. Without this, it's difficult to help. It looks at the moment as if the router is simply not talking to the modem, or the modem is not talking to the ISP.

my modem is an at&t 2wire 2701hg-b, its a router/modem deal and it's made by gateway. I'm connected through dhcp automatic configuration. I didn't configure tomato at all, just downloaded the wrt54gs.bin, upgraded the firmware, and everything went smoothly except the no internet part. Also I don't have any tests or logs to show you guys, i don't even know how to do those.

since the 2wire is a modem/router it would probably just make things more difficult right? I still have my old westell modem here, what if i set that up instead. I originally tried that setup with dd-wrt on the router but had the same no internet access issue. would it be easier to use that modem instead?

looks like your WAN port on Tomato or DD-WRT is not configured correctly, at least let us know what version/MOD of firmware you are using.
You have to make sure this is not the problem, otherwise you'll need a lot of work to be done to get your Router work again...^_^

This is the clue "I didn't configure tomato at all". Then how can you expect it to work???

The best thing would be to google tomato wiki or visit and follow the instructions. If you can't get it working then by all means post a request for help.
