    Hi Guys,

tried out the new HyperWRT 4.70.6 for WRT54GS. Updating my GS from HyperWRT 2.1b1 3.37.6 runs fine.

But after the update i found out that my WDS-Signal to my other WRT54GS (running alchemy 1.0) was broken. No way to get it back. So i switched back to 3.37.6 and the WDS is up again ;-)

So if you need WDS don´t update your firmware...

did you reset the router after upgrading? not use a backup from one version of binary to another version.

    hi tox,

yep did a reset after upgrading, then setting up my values again but no wds... i got a special wds running, one wrt54gs with alchemy and the other one with hyperwrt, and it works..

but not with the new version...

but no prob, downgrading back to 3.37.6 and WDS runs fine :)

    hi The_Real_Thibor,

have you done something special to get it working? and what firmware you got on the other wireless router?

i have my Hyperwrt build on both GS routers, nothing special...just the same channel, ssid and encryption, as well as setting wl_wds="remote_endpoint_mac". i've seen reports that afterburner has to be deactivated for wds to work, but in the v4 firmware, if a wds interface is detected, afterburner is turned off itself.
Get the link working unencrypted first before adding wpa, etc and start from a factory reset.
frameburst is enabled, but only because it's that way by default. firewall is disabled on non-internet facing router. That's about it, there was nothing difficult about it.

got it running now with 2 hyperwrt versions. The problem seems to be the alchemy version.

after upgrading the alchemy to the hyperwrt version wds works...

but only with wep.. no change to get it working with wpa or wpa2 personal...

    any suggestions?
