No webinterface on WRT54G

I've succesfully flashed my WRT54Gv2 before from original Linksys FW to HyperWRT. Not from the webinterface, because that sort of bricked my router. Later on I did a partial flash with tftp. And from the webinterface I uploaded the full HyperWRT FW. And it worked.

But because I wanted to know what the DD-WRT was about, I flashed my WRT54G with their FW. It didn't completely go well, so I decided to go back to HyperWRT.

I uploaded the FW using tftp and after a while the router rebooted and was ready for action. Well, I thought it was. I'm able now to connect to the internet, my wireless connection is working (however without WEP). But I'm unable to get the webinterface. I just get a blank screen.

Any idea anyone on how to solve this?

    Thanx in advance,

p.s. Is it just me or is it now impossible to download the original FW from the Linksys homepage? Only for WRT54Gv5 there's FW to be found.

Try to hold to reset button for 30 secs. If this doesn't work, then try to upload the original firmware (can be found on this site) via the tftp method. Once the original firmware is installed upgrade, via webinterface, to Tofu 13c and then to Thibor 14.

The reset button thing doesn't work. Tried different sessions with power on/off, but nothing seemed to be working.

Where is the original FW to be found then? In the 'downloads' section of this site there's only the third-party FW for the WRT54G.

.... euhh... WTF! They (= Linksys) must have changed their download section, because now all the models are available in the pull-down box.... Strange, because I searched their site about 14 hours ago and only the WRT54Gv5 was apparent.

When I get home I'll try to do what you wrote.

    Back on track

Many thanks to you, iamqwerty. :cheering:

After uploading the original FW through tftp, I upgraded to the FW's you mentioned. Inbetween cleaning nvram and resetting to factory defaults off course. And now, all is working again.

    Just one other question though:

At the update process as mentioned in the first message I reset my ethernet card to 10Mb/Half Duplex. During the latest update/upgrade process I worked with 100Mb/Full Duplex. Could that (also) have done the trick?

I don't know. But it is important to use a wired connection when upgrading.
