With sveasofts new talisman firmware, will other people or groups like HyperWRT be supporting other routers? I personally am intrested in the MN-700! More info on the MN-700

I cannot speak for other people or groups, but the Microsoft products have been discontinued, and groups or other people usually offer firmware for products that have a large following. If you can find out , who made the MN-700, and if the model that the MN-700 is based on the manufacturer is still available and is popular you may get other firmware. Also the code for the unit must be available or you are completely out of luck.

    A microsoft router running Linux???

I'm only going to support the WRT54G(S) and WAP54G because :
    - I don't have enough time to support other routers
    - I don't have the resources and money

The WRT54GX might get supported in the far future, if it's price drops severly, and if I would have more time.
