I have a projector which has a wifi card and can connect to my wireless network. The only problem is that it does not support WPA. But I want to be able to access this device. Is there any way, to turn on WPA but then allow limited access clients w/o WPA installed? Or are my options limited to sticking with WPA or having to buy a second AP for this one device?

There is no provision for using WPA for some clients and not others. You can use a WAP54G in bridge mode to connect the projector or use WDS with third party firmware with WRT54G or WRT54GS. The only problem is WDS willl cut your bandwidth in half. You can try client bridge mode with third party firmware also.
