Sitting in my computer room, thinking to myself it would be nice to listen my old CB radio.
Powered up the CB radio, and what do you know it still worked fine. Should of just listened
to incoming conversations. But ah what the heck let me just try that mike out and see it still
works. As soone as I keyed the mike the Asus died and my razor mouse went crazy, also the
computer keyboard stopped working. Mouse and keyboard recovered after a power cycle. But
my nice shiny new Asus RT-N16 did not.:(

How much power were you transmitting? I'm surprised you would be able to fry a router with a 12W signal on a 27MHz frequency...

The radio is rated max 5W. But it was only about 5 feet from the router, and was tuned to chanel 11. I wont make this mistake again.......

Mark this one up to education !!!!

If you are extremely lucky, it might only be the AC adapter. Though more likely, it's the router unit. The room's AC circuit probably spiked when you hit transmit. Think you will need to put the radio stuff on a different AC circuit.

CB radio is now banned from computer room. AC adapter was fine.

Good news is I was able to exchange it. All is well in the world.
