I work for a school district and I'm contemplating purchasing a secondary Internet pipe. Here is my situation.

I have a 10Mb pipe through our state department of education. I'm thinking about purchasing a 15Mb pipe through a local cable company to provide a second connection.

The problem that I have is that we run several applications that can only be ran on the 10Mb connection provided by the department of education.

I am thinking of purchasing a RV082 to provide access to both connections for my users. However, is there a way to route traffic via the destination IP through one connection only and allow all other traffic to be load balanced between the two?

Yes, you can bind IP traffic to a specific Destination IP. You have the option of binding a specific protocol, or all traffic to a Destination IP(or any Destination IP if needed, just leave 0 in each field). You can also specify source IP if only a group needs it, or leave all 0's for any source. The attachment shows an RV016 screenshot, but the RV082 will be same except only 2 WANS available. Don't forget to set the bandwidth available as shown in the screenshot or you won't get full banwidth.

Protocol Binding of RV082 is just what you need to configure. You could define a rule to bind all traffic destinied to certain IP addresses to one particular WAN port.
