I bought myself a new router a wrt54gx v2, and when entering the ports to forward, I realized that you can only put 8 diffrent ports to forward. Have I missed something here, I need like at least 15 ports, preferedly 20. Is there anyway to forward more ports? Of course I don't want to put my server under dmz or forward a whole range to it, then i wouldnt need a router at all. Any help would be very appreciated.

At the moment there is no thirdparty firmware available for the WRT54GX. So you are stuck with the options the Linksys firmware provides. The sourcecode fo the WRT54GX is available, though.

    So basically you can:

1.) send a feature request to Linksys and hope that they will increase the number of port forwarding slots in a future firmware version.

2.) wait until somebody else starts playing with the WRT54GX sourcecode, adding new features like more portforwarding slots.

3.) download the sourcecode and modify/build your own version of the firmware with more portforwarding slots.

:cheer: Excellent, thanks , if the sourcecode is out, i am sure someone will hack it. Maybe I will look at it myself.

hyperwrt like firmware will be out soon.. as i working on it now for wrt54gx v2 as i own it. but the source code that linksys provided is broken... softlink dun know to where... u will know when u untar it..... but the most important portforward.asp is there.. so it not that difficult for me to figure it out....

    cheers :drinking: :cheering:
