owning a Linksys WRT 54 G with HyperWRT 1.3. Works very well. But i have one problem.

For using iChat i must open Port 5190 and Ports 16384-16403. But i will only open the ports, but not forwarding them to an specific computer, because i will use iChat on different computers. This worked for me with my selfmade firewall. But with the Linksys i have only the possibility to forward ports...but i only want to open them.

    How can i solve this?

    P.S.: I don't want to use UPNP.

A little bit of googling tells me this isn't an easy one to tackle. I've never used or seen iChat, but it sounds like AIM+Video/Audio Conferencing. Or, AIM+H.323+SIP+RTP for those playing the protocol game. The biggest problem is you'd have quite a challenge making the latter protocols there work on 1 machine behind NAT, let alone a bunch of different machines. Some of the other forums I see, tend to think this is an application limitation... they should have built-in "behind firewall" options for the application. In other words, if you need a range of 20 ports for iChat to work, to have the ability to designate a different range for each individual IP behind NAT (IRC DCC works this way, quite well I might add). HTH ...

Something to consider trying is the Port Triggering feature (next tab from Port Forwarding in the router setup). It doesn't restrict forwarding a set of ports to a fixed LAN IP like Port Forwarding does, but you do need outgoing data flowing through an outgoing port(s) to trigger incoming ports from opening.
