I've just bought a wag54g v2 router, and set it up properly.
I've decided to prob my ports and have seen that some of them are stealth while other were just closed.

Like i was using no applications (no port forwarding, no incoming allowed), i contacted linksys support. They just recognize that it is a limitation of the router, and they can't do anything about it (telling me to wait for a future firmware, a day, a year.. who knows)

So does some of you manage to tighten the security, and successfully grab a firmware that can do the job a router should do!

    do you have uPnP enabled?

also make sure Block WAN requests are on.

i've disabled Upnp (i don't need a so unsure function), the other option is set properly.

    Not recommended...

While testing I have found that by turning off the FW function all ports become stealthed, but this means that it is not offering any form of defence.

I've done the test and it does not stealth the ports... i got the same result FW up or FW down.

I don't understand why some port a stealthed while FW is up, and some just closed....

Linksys should plan to fix that in their next firmware...

    Other question:

Which port scanner did you use? What protocol did you scan? UDP or TCP?
