    Hi All,

I'm a wifi newbie from the Philippines with a new WRT54GS v4. Installed it to a PC running WinXP on a PLDT DSL line. Setup goes pretty well, except after configuration, when it checks the internet connection - the wizard says that "a connection to the Internet was not detected." I've tried resetting 3x, cycling the PC, router, and modem on and off - I've made sure the username and passwords are all correct - but still no dice.

FUNNY THING IS - I can use wireless. When I have my office profile on, it seems I can access the office network and the internet privileges (just like the router works). But with it off, everything just goes offline. Now, I'm taking that to mean that the router is not giving me access thru my DSL acct but thru my office server - thus, the access I have on my notebook is "fake" and the real reason my desktop (the one I installed the router to) can't connect is coz the router isn't really dialling in. So there. I need help to set the thing up properly.

I'm a COMPLETE newbie so I wouldn't have been able to change anything that the wizard or the manual didn't say to change so you can expect my settings to be as default as they come (I followed the CD setup and everything).

Hope someone out there can help me out! Thanks a lot!

To what is the router connected?
Is the modem connected directly to the router's WAN port?
What has the DSL account, router to do with your office network?

Login to your router and make sure it has been configured correctly.
