Whats the best sveasoft firmware to run on a wrt54g version 4. I'm thinking into looking in using them maily becaus ehte orginal linksys firmware is not that stable. My connection is always dropped when using wpa so I was thinking that custom firmware might help.

Be for warned it has not been confirmed to work with a v 4.0 ans sveasoft has not officially confirmed it either. This is one of the latest models and has a different chip than previous hardware. Sveasoft gives official confirmation only when the dev team has tested the specific hardware themselves. Users will usually post when it does work but I haven't seen anything say it does. I suggest waiting, but yes sveasoft firmware is good. Have a look at dd-wrt maybe it will work, it has some really good features and would be my recommended second choice (it uses alchemy code base obviously with improvments)

AFAIK DD-WRT doesn't work on v4 either. Your only choices would then be OpenWrt and HyperWRT...
