I've just recently installed Tomato and ever since my ping while gaming has nearly doubled, any tweaks I need to do to fix this?

I guess my first question is: how do you know it's Tomato that's causing the ping time spike? Are you connecting to the same game server at the same time of day with the same number of players and the same server load and are positive the server is not having any network-related issues of its own?

I've used Tomato for gaming for quite some time with no problems...seems to work better for me than DD-WRT did.

Yeah, I would have to agree with bripab007
conventional routers you get from say from your ISP vendor are great routers
but, it's nothing like how tomato operates.. Such as Automated Ports forwarding, UpnP with DLNA support, and the new Apple PNP. Simple, sleek, meek, and very inviting. I use to have the 2wire 2701HG handle NAT Firewall and I had a massive headaches. Ever since I got the Wrt54GL Cisco Linksys router it's been a breeze
