Planning on purchasing the WRT54GL and an associated Linksys notebook adapter to add to my network to unhook the house laptop from its existing ethernet umbilical. This will be the first instance of wireless networking in my house. I currently have a 2.4G phone system in the house, with the base station in the same room where the WRT54GL is expected to reside. Wondering if there's a good chance of problems with this combo, such as losing the wireless connection at times. If so, will alternate channel setting on the Linksys equipment provide the flexibility to minimize or remove such problems? I'm willing to go with one of the custom firmware options if such a solution decreases any such problems. I don't believe that my phone system has the ability for the user to select a specific channel.

I have a WRT54GL and a 2.4 ghz cordless phone and I have had no problems with them both in the house.

just depends on the exact frequency range it transmits/receives on. you have over 11 channels on the WRT54GL to select from
