I am trying to set up a ftp server on my home network
for this to work I have a static ip issued to me from my ISP
the pc on my network are connected to the internet through befdsr41w and I have disabled dhcp on the router to forward ports to a specified ip
for example I forward ftp request to the ip of the pc htat is hosting the ftp server
I have set up forwarding in the router AND disabled dhcp and everything works fine that is msn internet access BUT I cant connect to my ftp server
and yes it is correctly set up and configured since a have checked that several times but nothing works ????

any ideas as to what could be the problem?
And by the way I have the firewall enabled on the router could that be stopping access to the ftp ???

you will need to forward port 20 and 21 tcp that should get ya going just fine unless your isp blocks 20 and 21 if so use another port like i use 210 and 211 :) also let your router have dhcp i can forward ports also to the computer i want to have open ports dont have to have a static ip or disable dhcp to do this for instance the computer imi on right now has a ip address of i forward all ports i need like 27960-27961 for enemy territory 15567-15568 for battlefield vietnam and 14567-14578 for battlefield 1942 and they all work for hosting i have a static ip addy from my isp and i have dhcp enabled on my router and EVERY THING works as they should also set dmz to the computer you want to do the most hosting of files or games :)

please excuse some typeing errors ive had a few tonite :) maybe wrt54g or jd will hook me up with a spell checker lol
