Port forwarding not working on PPTP connection?

I have a tomato flashed wl520gu router. I have the PPTP client connection enabled in the router and I can establish a vpn connection no problem, and ping and connect to devices from behind the tomato router.

The issue comes when I am on the other site and try to connect to devices on the tomato router, they all get thrown to the router.

I have a web server on port 80 behind the tomato router, and when I try to access that web server from the pptp client IP address it throws me to the tomato login page.

Is that how it works with pptp anyways or could it work the way I am explaining it? I would have used a regular openvpn connection or site to site, but the tomato vpn connection is mobile and often sits behind other routers on networks thus can't connect unless it establishes a connection.
