My ISP is blocking FTP ports (21/20) , but I want to enable FTP on a server in my house to the outside world.

What I did is very simple, in the port forwaring pane, I created 2 entries:

port 2100 ===> port 21 on my server internal IP
port 2099 ===> port 20 on my server internal IP

In my mind, this should work just fine. When I connect FTP from an outside computer, I get a message saying connected to, then I receive another one saying connection closed by host.

    Any idea what's wrong?

I know FTP is a tricky protocol, but still, I'm sure there's a way to make this work.

I think I found my problem. I had a port triggering enabled for the sames ports. Maybe from a previous test.

Disabling that makes the port forwarding running as I wanted.

Not sure what does port triggering vs port forwarding, but it does not look to be the same as expected.
