Possible to get verbose logging from pppd?

I'm having an issue with disconnections from my ISP, though I do not lose sync. The problem has been following me through several ISP's, so that rules them out. I've been told it may be either the equipment at the exchange, or my modem.

From tailing /var/log/messages, I get the following

    Nov 15 21:02:51 WRT54GS daemon.notice pppd[632]: pppd 2.4.1 started by root, uid 0
    Nov 15 21:03:23 WRT54GS daemon.notice pppd[638]: pppd 2.4.1 started by root, uid 0
    Nov 15 21:08:42 WRT54GS daemon.notice pppd[723]: pppd 2.4.1 started by root, uid 0

I use a Linksys ADSL2MUE modem, which is running in bridge mode. Router is set to use pppoe.

So, I know that pppd is restarting, but I don't know why. There are no errors in messages, just the fact that it's starting. Is there any way to enable pppd to output more verbose messages, which might shed light into why it's restarting.
