    'ello all

I have a Linksys WRT54GL v1.1, and I currently use three devices with it (in addition to my pc, which is wired into it), my Nintendo Wii, my DS Lite, and my mom's pc (she recently got one, and I told her she could get a Wireless USB adaptor to use my Broadband connection, and she did, a Linksys Wireless-G USB adaptor)

my Nintendo Wii and DS Lite worked perfectly with it, and the first two weeks she had the Wireless USB adaptor, it did, too, until the other day when it started randomly dropping the connection, sometimes lasting 20 minutes, sometimes dropping within seconds of connecting

we thought it might be the USB adaptor, she exchanged it, still had the same problem, I changed the Wireless channel from 1 to 2, still had the same problem, and today I noticed my Nintendo Wii is also having problems connecting

I did a reset on the Wireless router today by pressing the reset button in the back, it seemed to help a bit as her pc connected faster, stayed connected longer, and in general seemed snappier online, but it still occasionally drops the connection, and sometimes it does not appear to exist at all

AFAIK there are no other Wireless routers around me, I do not live in the country but I do not live in the middle of a city, and when I check for available networks, no others are listed, nor are there any other 2.4Ghz. devices in my house other than what the microwave emits, and that is not the problem as it is not on when the connection drops

the problem seemed to start right after we had a sudden power outage due to a semi hitting a power line near my house, it seems like after that the problem started

my pc is having no problems, I have been thinking about doing a hard reset by holding down the reset button for 20 seconds, I am wondering if the sudden power outage might have damaged it (I have everything on a surge protector, of course)

is it possible for a sudden power outage to do this? all the LED's are fine on the front, the diagnostic LED is not blinking, everything seems to be fine as far as the LED's go

    pertinent system info:
    Windows98SE (I know, old)
    Motorola SurfBoard SB5120
    Adelphia PowerLink

    my mom's pc:
    Windows XP SP2
    Linksys Wireless-G USB adaptor

    Thank you for your time

Ok, I did a factory reset, set everything up like before, and still disconnects randomly, I also power cycled it and the same thing

I fixed it, I released and renewed the DCHP and that seemed to fix it, thanks anyway
