Power boost max

    Has anyone tried the max power boost 84. Will it fry the router?

    Actually it is not even close to the actual "max". However, even at this level, it may be more than you need to produce the strongest usable signal...the higher you go, the more noise will be introduced to the signal so you enter into the zone of diminishing returns.

    The best rule of thumb is don't go any higher than you really need.

    These wrt54g routers are set at 18dbm which is just less than 100 milliwatts (100 milliwatts with 2db ant).
    If you want 100 milliwatts to the antenna then set the power level at 21dbm.

    21dbm= 100 milliwatts

    20dBm = 100 mW
    21dBm = 125mW
