    Hi @ All,

i have a simple question about the PPPoE connect mode "Keep alive". A few minutes ago i wanted to test this and disconnected my Internet connection in the WebGUI Status->Overview. I waited for a little more time as i defined in "Check interval" (5min) and then looked back at the status (refreshed the GUI  ) and it still says "disconnected". After manually start the connection in WebGUI everything is OK. Does the "Keep alive" mode only works with uncontrolled disconnects or is that a malfunction of router or modem ? Maybe someone can recheck this !

I don't know this for certain but I think that if you manually disconnect using the disconnect button that this overrides the keep alive function, as you are effectively doing a admin shutdown of the link. This has always been how I have presumed it worked as I have often while working on my systems used this and it does seem to not reconnect automatically (you need to click the "connect" button to reconnect). Where if I turn my adsl modem off wait for the connection to fail then restart my modem, tomato seems to see this and reconnect when it can which would be due to the keep alive function working as intended.

This is also what I understand of this function... Connect on demand on the other hand would auto-reconnect on a request for internet acitivity.

well you might wanna put in a request for a re-connect automatically function if you need.

That was my thoughts before playing around with it. But i was bored and my enquiring mind force me to test this anyway
    Thanks for confirmation about this.

I love the keep alive feature implementation in Tomato. My ISP (AT&T) will drop my ADSL connection while doing some maintenance on some weekends. This weekend they have dropped the connection twice. How do I know? By looking at the connect up time versus the total up time of the router (15days and counting). With DD-WRT and Thibor 15c I would need to cycle the router after they do a disconnect. With Tomato it just reconnects when they come back up.
    Ya got to love Tomato!!
