Problem WET54GS5

    I have just received one of the above and was told that it was in working order, but I just can't get it to work.

    I cannot access the configuration process, either through the CD rom programme, or through the web based interface. I had spoken to Linksys tech support and they told me to:

    Manually assign IP, subnet, default gateway and DNS to my PC.
    Reset the router. Hold down reset button for 30 secs, remove power cord and hold down for further 30 secs, plug power back in and continue to hold down reset for final 30 secs.
    Connect it via ethernet to my PC.

    I do this, and Windows reports a physical network connect to the router. But when I try to access in a web-browser, it times out. Also, if I ping, I get lots of time outs.

    I have tried repeating the above steps several times. Sometimes when I plug it in, I get an intermitent red 'diag' light flashing on the front, which can't be good. Other times I get only *one* green flashing light next to the port the cable is plug into (i.e. no power light is lit at the same time). And some times I get an array of lights, including flashing "Wireless Act". Could any one shed some light on what might be causing these difficulties, please?! I would be so grateful.
