Problems connecting to Windows Update

I have a RV042 router connected to Cable (DHCP) on WAN1 and DSL (PPPoE) on WAN2.

With WAN1 I can connect to Windows Update and use MSN Messenger.
With WAN2 I cannot connect to those things.

I switched out the router and connected it to the DSL and I was able to connect to both WU and Messenger. So I know it's not the DSL connection. It seems like when either WAN1 or WAN2 are connected via PPPoE I cannot connect. However, with the Cable connection (DHCP) I don't have any problems connecting with either WAN port.

I am using firmware version, which I know is out of date. I'll be updating it tomorrow.

I was just curious if anyone else had seen this problem before.
