I updated from Shibby's mod v1.05 to 1.08 and now to 1.09 and have been experiencing some issues with openvpn (server mode) without changing my server/client configuration options. When a client connects to the server, I can't connect to other devices on my LAN. For example, if I connect to my router ( in tun mode, I am no longer able to connect to my printer (

Push LAN to clients, Direct clients to redirect Internet traffic, Respond to DNS, Advertise DNS to clients are all checked off as they were before. After each firmware update, I am always sure to flash nvram and do a hard reset before manually configuring the router options. Has anyone else experienced this?

It is very possible that I am experiencing a very similar issue. This is my first real attempt at creating a TAP network so I can access the home network from wherever I am with the client router. I am getting some unexpected results and always thought that it is with the configuration and not the firmware.

I have similar behaviour with recent Shibby builds

Make sure you run the OpenVPN client with elevated privileges if running it under Vista/7/8. Otherwise the client won't be able to add the required static route to reach the other half of your network.

In my case I am going from Tomato router to Tomato router as client and server.

I have solved my issue. My client device seems to have been at fault; the openvpn version I updated to on my android phone is not working well, and so I rolled back to what I was using before. Functionality seems to have been restored.

I have never run a tap network from router to router, though I have had tun installations which allowed access across the VPN to clients on both sides. TAP setups can be problematic in some installations because it also forwards DHCP requests over the VPN to the VPN server and cause havoc. Tell me more about what you are trying to achieve and post your config files up and maybe we can come up with a solution.
