    Hello from Germany.

I actually translate the complete web-interface to german.

    1. Is it possible to connect per FTP to the WRT and change the files?
    2. How can I cook my firmware under Windows?

Maybe are some interested to integrate a help system?

Sorry for my bad english :)

    1. The web files are in a readonly compressed squashfs filesystem. If you enable ssh you can use winscp to transfer files to the ram disk to test, or more permanently to jffs if enabled. There is a way to add files to the interface using wwwext.

    2. You cannot, there are tools to unpack the firmware under windows, but you would need a filesystem that is case sensitive and understands synlinks to have any chance of repacking.

to 1. - okay... i know squashfs from my dbox. I can configure, that the firmware uses primary the files from wwwext? That would be perfect.

to 2. Okay... than i install a Linux...

Discussion about using wwwext to add extra web pages - I still have nvramshow on my /jffs

also useful for testing new pages from /cifs without touching router!

duplicating core web files is awkward - there is text in tomato.js

although softcoder found a way round this in extending the tomato menu

I'm sure you will find re-built firmware better eventually. The bitsum "Firmware mod kit" does work well with some versions of Tomato I have tried.
