I am looking at purchasing a RV082 or RV016. I have read online reviews and talked to Linksys sales but I'm left with some questions unanswered.

I'm looking for people who own either of these to give me some advice. I'm especially interested in non-home users (small/medium business, multi-person housing)

    1) Other than the number of ports, is there a difference between these two units? I've heard "no" from some people and other say that the RVO16 has 64MB RAM instead of RV082's 32MB.

    2) How many people do you have hooked up to your unit? I'm going to have 70 users, all doing browser and IM traffic. (I wish there was something between these $400 units and the $1000+ Cisco offerings in terms of horsepower)

    3) Would you buy your unit again? If not, what would you buy? I have looked at similar offerings from xincom and edimax. Everyone has terrible sales staff and I can't get technical answers out of them.

    4) What kind of uptime to you experience? Without changing settings or upgrading firmware, how often does the unit have to be restarted (iow stops responding).

    5) How is the stability of the built in ports vs. connecting one port to an existing switch.

    6) I am not a fan of Linksys tech support. Have you had issues that required contacting them? If so, how smooth was the resolution?

    7) Misc: Does the current firmware allow you to reboot the unit via the web interface? Do the units come with all necessary screws for rack mounting or just the brackets?

VPN isn’t a concern. I am interested in these routers because of their beefier processor/ram, and ability to use a fail-over connection in the future (if necessary).

Thanks in advance for any help!
