Hi, I didn't see this posted elsewhere so I thought I'd post this tip. I have Comcast cable service and I'm using Tomato on a WRT54GL. I was getting upload speeds around 8 Mbit/s and download speeds around 200 Kbit/s, which is much lower than Comcast promises in my area. After some experimentation, I determined that QoS in Tomato Firmware (1.25) was causing the router to throttle the connection and inspect the data. When I disabled QoS, my connection speeds improved, especially upload. Thought this could be helpful to others.

Did you reconfigure the values to reflect your speed?

Doh! Thanks for reminding me - I now see that the QoS bandwidth limits were causing my bottlenecks. I'll test QoS again when I get a chance.

Edit: Just adjusted the QoS speeds to compensate for our Comcast speeds, and the speed issue has been resolved. Thanks! :knock:
