    Greetings all,

So long story short, we're wanting to drop in an Asus WL-520gU with Tomato on it (Currently have the -vpn build) and use it to show the types of traffic that's going out across the connection.

What we have currently is the gateway on
Ideally what we want to do is change it from .254 to something like .250 (Keeping it on the same subnet because the FortiGate Firewall does VPN Hosting which we'll port-forward) and drop in the Tomato box as .254 so that the few clients that have static IP's don't need any changing, etc etc

Problem: It works reliably most of the time in testing scenarios, but semi-regularly traffic out the WAN port just "dies". If we have the WAN set to get its DHCP from the FortiGate, we release and renew and get a bit longer ... If its static, we just wait 30 seconds and it "comes around" and fixes itself.

Im sure its got to be possible, because it works for a little bit but then just randomly dies
We've tried a whole heap of different WAN configurations, subnet mask of, subnet of, a static IP, setting the Gateway as the ISPs ...

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Ive included the log files (This is in a test environment using as the Gateway). is OpenDNS which we use here coz they're better than our ISP ;)

    Kind regards

Does anybody have any idea about using the WAN Gateway Device on the same subnet as Tomato's LAN connection?
    Surely its possible ... :-/

    Anybody have any ideas?
Failing that, is it possible to QoS across the LAN somehow?
