    I just got a WRT54G revision 4.
I'm going to be using it with a VoIP TA.

Is there an existing QoS FAQ?
I have yet to find one...

Is the official firmware good for QoS?
Otherwise, which firmware is good for QoS?
Is there some advice for setting up QoS?

    DD-WRT QoS help (v32 - Nov 4 beta)

ok - I've loaded the Nov 4 v23 onto my router and started fiddling with QoS.

    A) A enbled QoS
    B)set to WAN
C)set the Upload and Download to about 85% of what I've tested my connection to be on speakeasy.net
D)set the LAN port which has my D-Link MGCP TA to Premium
    E) set the other ports to Bulk (after trying standard)

I still get breakups on the "upload" side of my phonecalls, even though my total upload bandwidth is over 3 times the amount needed on the upload side.
(Download was always fine, I have enough 5MBPS).

Someone in the Nov 4 bug thread, said that he's having issues with QoS... so maybe there is bug. What version v23 are you using?

While I'm waiting for more stable DD-WRT (which looks great), is there another free firmware which has good QoS and isn't difficult to set up?

Never mind. It turns out that PORT BASED QoS only works with old WRT54Gs. I was able to use MAC based QoS using the 10/27 firmware. Hopefully the QoS will be fixed again soon.
