Only an XP SP3 desktop is hard wired to the Linksys WRT54GS 90% of the time. I occasionally log on the network with my laptop and when the four children are home with spouses there may be as many as seven or eight total on the network. I was wondering if you even recommend QoS be enabled and if so what settings? Thank you for the help!

For most folks, just enabling QOS using the default settings (after inputting your own outbound rate/limit, less ~10%, and inputting "999999," essentially unlimited, for the inbound rate/limit) works just great.

as bripab007 already mentioned the default QoS settings are a good starting point. Going through the QoS-FAQ should help you to optimize your settings.

You might also check out this thread which is an excellent discussion on how to set up QOS. I'm surprised that it's not part of the FAQ (hint, hint).
