QoS - Not as a gateway, just passthrough bandwidth control

    I have a WRT54g and Alchemy-6.0-RC4 v3.01.3.8sv firmware loaded. I already have a different router setup as my internet gateway and don't wish to replace it with the WRT54g. I've been experiementing with setting up the WRT54g as a QoS passthrough for several systems on our network to try and thwart an unrelenting bittorrent addicted roommate.

    Essentially I have all our systems hooked to a switch, from switch to WRT54G into LAN port 1, then from LAN port 2 out to the internet gateway router.

    QoS is configured as:

    Port set to Lan & wLAN
    Uplink 240 kbps Downlink 2400 kbps (actuals are 320 and 3000 respectively)
    Services Priority: Bittorrent set to Bulk
    Netmask Priority: set addicted roommates to Bulk and mine to Express
    No MAC level settings right now
    Ports are all 100 mbps and set to Premium

    My question, can a WRT54g with this firmware act as a passthrough like this? I have had no success so far, first setting up services priorities, then MAC priorities, now IP prioirities. Do I need to setup the WRT54g as a separate LAN segment so I can run internet through the WAN port?

    I'm getting the feeling that WAN option restricts incoming/outgoing data via the WAN port, and LAN wLAN restricts incoming data coming from the WAN port only and not any other LAN ports.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    I mean by no success, the QoS has been ineffective. Everything else works great :)

    QoS in rc4a is munged use the latest Alchemy version.
