I have a 7mbit connection, and for some reason I find that if I split the RTMP category into sub and plus 4mb categories and put the sub into the WWW category and the plus into the media category I'm getting really great streaming performance.

I've also put some other categories that have sub 512kb filters into the WWW category.

I'm finding that I'm getting pretty high burst streaming of video now which is nice and youtube seems to work faster. (although I kicked down the two youtube filters down to media)

If you're curious, try it out and let me know how it works out.

Which firmware and version are you using?

If you really want to discuss your config, please post some screenshots of your Classification and Basic Settings page.

From what you are describing you actually harm your speeds. RTMP is being classified as Media and Media has a higher priority than WWW, at least on my system. I don't know why you think that WWW is such a preferrable class. That is why I don't understand for what reason you put those others filters which classify by transferred KB into WWW.

Also, your youtube filter probably doesn't work any more, if you pushed it down. The location of this filter is key to get it working correctly.

Oh sorry, you are right in one big regard.

I put www above media on my network to prioritize standard websurfing. Maybe I need to revisit my settings.....
