I have a new WL-500gP V2 on the way from Newegg. I loaded Tomato on my first one and the power supply died so I didn't get a chance to really mess with the settings. I have since picked up a Maxtor 500GB external USB drive for everyone in my network to use. Will this work as a network drive with Tomato loaded or am I stuck using the Asus firmware? I see on their website that they have a new so-called user friendly version which replaced beta. I would much rather use Tomato since my Linksys and Buffalo run perfect on Tomato. I have searched through here and other places but with so many different answers I wasn't sure which was true.

Thanks in advance for any help offered. :)

I believe Open-WRT supports it? And there are USB packages you can compile into Tomato.
