I was wondering how to setup a WRT54G just to be an access point. I have a Windows 2000 DHCP server running that i WOULD like to have handle all my MAC address for reservations and what not but I cannot figure out the correct settings to get this router setup right.

Simply use a LAN port on the router instead of the WAN/Internet port. You'll obviously want to also disable the DHCP server in the WRT as well. ;)

And you will need to Disable the Firewall on the WRT.

How come? What filtering does the firewall do between the WLAN & LAN ports? (I know I could look at the iptables configuration but I don't have time right now.) I've used a WRT as an AP for an extended time without disabling the firewall and didn't notice any problems...
