I want to add WPA2 encrtption to my network, but am restricted to a subnet note included in the default Linksys WRT54 net (they use My router insists on

Rather than try to hack the WRT, adding an WAP54G seems to be the best bet

I assume that I can use any subnet mask with an WAP.

Does it support WPA2? some posts report it does.

Is the Version of the WPA54 imoportant, as it is in the WRT54?

If so how can you tell in the store? ; can you id Serial numbers?

The WAP54G v2.0 has WPA2 certification. On the WAP54G you can change the subnet mask. Both the version 2.0 and version 3.0 can use the same firmware. The latest version firmware version is 3.04, which can be loaded on both.

I asked Linksys the same question they said you could not change the subnet mask and recomended a GX

I haven't been impressed with their veracity in the past!!!
