this shouldnt be specific to this firmware (talisman 1.04) but has anyone successfully used XP pro RDP feature outside the LAN?

i opened the port (3389) up the other day and tried to access internally. could go with local IP and computer name fine, but when using the WAN ip it was apparently not passing through for some reason. i did try rebooting the router to going back to make sure the port was still listed as open to my internal static IP, but to no avail.

i tried the next day from work and still couldnt get in, although i can access my router with wan ip fine, so fro some reason its not passing through the port.

the only funny thing i noticed, was that the port ranges i opened for two computers last week for BT were no longer listed (but BT working fine, so ports open...)

    Can you telnet port 3389?
Is your windows firewall configured to allow incoming connections on 3389?

So you are using two routers? it makes a world of difference. That fact alone is probably why you can't connect. How do you set up the two routers? That is a starting place

When you say opened do you mean port forward to destination ip/port. You should also check to see if the pc is able to talk back out the WAN port as well.
    cat /tmp/.ipt
will give you the output of your firewall rules. Use
    iptables -nvL
to give you a dump of your activity.
