This feature stopped working after 2-3 weeks of working flawlessly and accessing the router remotely via WAN1 static IP address on port 8080. The IP address did not change and it is pingable as of now, the Remote Management is set to ENABLE on port 8080. I tried soft and hard reboot w/o any luck. Tech. support turned out to be useless @#$%. I'm running the latest version of the firmware = v1.2.3. Any ideas or similar experience?

Port 8080 is commonly used for proxy servers, are you sure it's not something that your ISP is doing i.e. running a proxy or blocking that port?

Does using a different port work?

You have a choice of using port 80 or 8080 for remote management. None of them work, however I hever had a problem with it until a few days ago. Overall, the unit is very unstable, full of bugs, still on its first firmware revision. I do not want to go into details what is not working, but the bug list is long. Also, this is second unit, I had to return the first one because the reset button did not work and the unit would get stuck in diagnostic mode after powering on.

I decided to return the seond unit it and and get smaller brother RV082 that has much better user reviews. I wish I did my homework before purchasing RV016, the user reviews for RV016 are very bad.
