I would like to use two wap54g's with a wrt54g router to extend the range of the wireless network. Any issues with this? Any special way of setting the waps?

I assume use the same ssid as the router? Put in mac address of router for repeating source?

I know this can be done with one wap acting as a repeater. I wasn't sure if you could use two or even more waps to extend the network.

  2. Hi Jason

As far as I am aware, you can't do this with the standard Linksys firmware.

So, You're saying the first repeater will work but the second one won't?

    What firmware allows this?

You have to enter the SSID and the MAC address of the first WAP54G. You will lose a lot of bandwidth, since each WAP54G will halve the bandwidth. This is because there is only one radio in the WAP54G and it has to recieve the packet and then re-transmit them.

no need for same ssid, but you must set the Routers MAC adress in AP's
