It is successful. Only MAC address is changed.
The instruction states that it may take more time to let the flash process complete. But for me, it takes no more than 2 minutes.

    Thanks for posting arrigo.

I've been following DD-WRT on v.5 with interest. Got the wrt 54gs five weeks ago and I am still learning about it. Have got 3 desktops (wired) and 1 wifi laptop sharing 10Mb connection. It's working well, even with one desktop on p2p, I settled on Utorrent, after bitComet didn't want to work.

It's reassuring to know that you can reverse the route OK.

Mine is not a WRT54GSv5 but a WRT54Gv5. The reversion steps are the same but WRT54GSv5 requires another *.bin to flash from Linux to VxWorks and it is untested. Better to wait for a experience user to try.

BitComet does stop my WRT54Gv5 from working too because a v5 cannot handle too many simultaneous connections generated by P2P applications. Tomsnetworking has a report about WRT54Gv5. But after I limit the max upload connections (I set to 5) in BitComet, everythings work fine. I recommend to try if you get used to use BitComet.

I found more support information available for Utorrent so I was able to get it configured fairly quickly.
