I'm planning on getting a network crimper to split up some cable I have which are now way too long for what I need them for.

My question is are cheap crimper not worth the money? I have seen some for abotu 30CAD which come with ends and a tester. But I have also seen ones which are 40CAD for just the tester. Is the price different worth it. Can where is a good place in Toronto Canada to get one? I have found some local computer stores (Factory Direct)and larger stores like RadioShack which carry them. Does HomeDepot also have them? I can't find it on there online store.

if your going to use it 3 or 4 times buy a cheap one
if you are planning to use it frequently buy a more expensive one.

if you wear out the cheap one youll spend twice as much buying a replacement so your choice.
i bought nice ones and i have never regretted them

they were about 45 usd and no tester or connectors were included.

i would recommend leaving the long cables long and making new shorter ones because you can never re lengthen a cable and you most likely will need a long one some day.
