I have a corporate network with three Linksys WRT54G. I want wireless users to be able to roam between AP's. Each Linksys is connected to our network via the wan port. I have enabled dhcp on the AP's. I have assigned the AP's the local ip addresses of, 3.2, and 3.3. Each access point hands out ip address in different pools. (ie,, and Each hands out an address from its different pool so a client cant have an already assigned ip on another access point.

How do I need to setup my AP's so I can roam between them.

make sure the aps are on the same channel, SSID, wep key etc, put them at the edge of eachothers range and the pcs should hop automatically, you'd be better off hooking the lan port of all them up to a device that can give out dhcp for all of them or they will loose all their connections when they hop aps... I have 2 aps connected together you can transition beteen seemlessly at home and it works fine :)

i bet you could make one of them the DHCP and the others just ap's and it would work better.
or flash em with "Better firmware" and tweak em that way.
    wds or something

it sounds like the APs are going to be hardwired so WDS is not required...
running DHCP on one of them would be the ideal way to go as setting them up with different ranges would make things alot less useful and alot more complicated however he may have an internal DHCP server (keep in mind broadcast DHCP packets won't be routed from LAN to WAN interface in that case....
but seeing as how he hasn't touched this topic since posting 6 days ago i'm assuming he either figured it out himself, forgot about his post or just pain gave up...
