Okay I need some help from someone. Here is my problem. Okay I have OPENVPN setup through my tomato based router to feed my VPN connection to all my devices in my house, the only problem is when I run the VPN through my router my connection speed drops a lot. From what I have been reading it is because the router is not powerful enough to handle the vpn. I am using an Asus RT N16. I have tested the VPN without the router and the speeds are fine so I know it is the router.

This is what I was thinking I could do unless someone has a better idea:

Okay I have an extra PC that I don't use, I was going to run the VPN through this PC. So basicly plug my cable modem straight into my extra computer run the VPN on this computer and then use one of those virtual PC programs (not to sure which one yet) to feed out the connection to my router Asus RT N16 then have the router give out the connectiont to all my devices.

My problem is how do I have the router connect to the PC to get the internet connection so i can feed it to all my devices? Would it be through WDS, wireless ethernet bridge??? Any help here would be greatly appreciated,

If you will be leaving the PC on at all times, and it has a second ethernet card, you can run a BSD or Linux firewall such as pfsense on the PC and use your N16 as an access point.

You could experiment with it by running pfsense off a DVD/USB on the PC to make sure it works on your hardware.
