    My Routers WLAN is not working if WPA-PSK with TKIP or AES is activated. :(

    With WEP 64/128 or disabled encryption it works well, but if I activate WPA (with or w/o SSID Broadcast) the Clients can't see or login into the Router. Tried several configurations;[hr:f0cfe68416]
    1. with and w/o MAC Control.
    2. Lowering output Power smaller or more than default (28mW/45 mW)
    3. Rebooted after every change
    4. Flashed newer Firmware
    (DD-WRT V22-prefinal3.1 --> DD-WRT V22-prefinal4 )
    5. Resetted configuration
    6. Changed Wireless Channels 1, 6 ,11
    7. Tried both speeds 802.11b/802.11g and mixed too

    Nothing works :-(

    Whats going on that box ???

    I dont want to use WEP for a long time, cause in my neighbourhood are to much Wireless active guys (Sometimes Wireless Survey shows me about 7 -9 APs)
    So much WLAN Traffic here and the chance to beeing hacked is big, because hacking WEP is not so hard.

    Every help is welcome

    I had a problem like this and what fixed it was to enable 802.1x. I know that 802.1x is a security protocol, but I am not sure why it would make the wlan invisible. My thinking is that with 802.1x off and WPA on, the router doesn't know what to do so doesn't send a signal to the wireless. Good luck!

    802.1x must be activated in order to use WPA, it is a requirement. maybe it could be set in future that setting WPA automatically enables 802.1x
